The problem can be that there is so much to know. The school's information systems and lines of communication are critical to people being able to make their contributions easily and well. Communication is not necessarily better than a good information system. Communication is often disruptive and inconvenient because it requires the real-time coordination of two or more people. Of course, information systems are not foolproof either.  An information system only works well when 
    people actually use it,
    it is used responsibly (not overloaded with trivia),
    it is easy to use,
    its contents are reliable & comprehensive
